Overview
The Culinary Training Program is designed to give those with no experience, an opportunity to learn a new career skill and gain employment as a prep cook or other basic kitchen position in a commercial food operation. Class is comprised of 3 months of hands on training in both the classroom and practical hands on food preparation. Meals produced are consumed at the South Napa homeless shelter and by the students themselves.Intensive and complete
Students receive 200 hours of hands-on training in the basics of cooking, food preparation, sanitation, and restaurant operations providing them with classroom and practical kitchen experience in both a classroom and a real working commercial kitchen. The program is taught by a professional chef/instructor who brings 30 years of certified professional culinary experience and 10 years of University-based teaching experience to the table.Connected to the community
