Overview

Los Niños Child Development & Family Program (CDFP) has been a program of Community Action of Napa Valley since 1975 and served over 163 children in 2006. We receive a majority of our funding from the State Department of Education, Child Development Division.

What we do

Los Niños CDFP provides a valuable community service to both the employer and our families by enabling low-income working families to remain employed. We offer affordable full day/full year, high quality childcare for children ages birth through pre-k.

A safe, healthy, nurturing, and responsive setting for children.

We are committed to supporting children’s development by cherishing individual differences, by helping them learn to live and work cooperatively, and by promoting their self-esteem. We acknowledge a primary responsibility to bring about collaboration between home and school in ways that enhance the child’s development. Our care is intended to be an extension of the child’s home, a place to begin learning the give-and-take of playing with other children, and a preparation for the school years ahead.

Current knowledge in the field of child development.

We recognize and respect the uniqueness and the potential of each child. We respect the dignity of each family and their culture, customs, beliefs, child rearing values and the right to make decisions for their children. We help family members improve their understanding of their children and enhance their skills as parents.

Building support networks for families.

We provide families with opportunities to interact with staff and other families through quarterly Parent Board Meetings and Annual Fundraisers. We encourage parent participation and believe that good communication and partnership with all parents enhance each child’s ability to learn and grow, and strengthens the bridge between home and school.
