Overview

The Napa Valley Solar Partnership is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, in cooperation with the California Department of Community Services and Development. Its goals include:
  • Increase the number of residential solar installations in Napa County.
  • Support the growth of local green jobs.
  • Educate the community about the affordability of solar and serve as impartial community resource.
  • Assist low-income households in obtaining solar.
  • Accelerate the community's move toward renewable energy.

Through a variety of strategies, the Napa Valley Solar Partnership is teaming with other organizations in Napa County to help take the confusion and frustration out of going solar for homeowners.  As a non-profit organization not affiliated with any one solar company or lender, the Napa Valley Solar Partnership is dedicated to providing reliable, unbiased information that can help Napa County homeowners make an informed decision about solar and find financing options to reduce or eliminate upfront costs.

NVSP is also dedicated to connecting low-income households to resources and programs that can help them save money by going solar and become more energy efficient.

Community Outreach

NVSP is scheduling community information sessions throughout Napa County.  The purpose of these presentations is to educate residents about the affordability of solar, answer their questions, and help facilitate their move to solar energy.   If you would like to schedule a presentation for your group, please contact us at (707) 253-6100 x122.

Prescreened Solar Vendor Program

NVSP has instituted a Prescreened Solar Vendor program, making it easier for residents to identify and contact solar vendors doing business in Napa that meet basic industry standards for proper insurance, licenses, and warranties for their work. This should help give Napa County residents more peace of mind when choosing a solar company. The current list is at the following link:  http://canv.squarespace.com/prescreened

Napa Valley Group Discount

One Block off the Grid (1BOG) is offering a pre-negotiated group discount to Napa County residents to further simplify the process of going solar while helping residents get a great price from a reputable installer.  To get more details, log on to their website:  www.1bog.org/nvsp

Green Jobs Program

NVSP has partnered with On The Move and One Block Off The Grid to implement a job creation project serving low income youth.  The youth will be trained in job skills, solar basics, and marketing, and earn money while spreading the word throughout the Napa Valley that solar energy is affordable and easy to get.  On The Move is a local non-profit primarily focused on transitional foster youth and youth leadership.  One Block Off The Grid (1BOG) is a San Francisco based company that puts together community group discount programs for residential solar.
